- The Challenge:
Frozen Assets Cold Storage
purpose-built its 267,000 square-foot warehouse
facility to accommodate frozen, refrigerated and dry
products, with 160,000 square feet devoted to frozen
storage, 65,000 square feet of cooler space, and
42,000 square feet of dry storage.
To handle the diversity of products in the most
efficient way, Frozen Assets Cold Storage needed a
wireless data-collection system that could withstand
the punishment of moving in and out of all three
storage environments, and work with its existing
Delfour warehouse management system (WMS).
- The Solution:
Frozen Assets Cold Storage
deployed Psion Teklogix’ freezer-rated 7035
hand-held terminals and 8260 vehicle-mount
computers, integrating them seamlessly with the
company’s existing WMS to put real-time order and
inventory information in the hands of its workers.
The new solution also includes the Psion Teklogix’
9500 High Availability Communications Server, which
acts as the hub for the wireless infrastructure.
Designed for the cold chain environment, the 7035
comes with a heated liquid crystal display (LCD)
that provides fast display refresh rates and clearer
viewing capabilities in a lightweight and ergonomic
design.
